Community Care Network
The WCC Email Community Network consists of a growing network Community minded people who enlist to pay love forward in the community in a number of ways.
This list currently presently has over 500 volunteers.
1. See a need and fill it - needs are communicated by email in the hope that someone who receives that email will be able to help fulfil that need. Through the email network you may hear of a sick person needing transport to hospital, a family in crisis needing a meal cooked, someone needing a fridge or washing machine or perhaps English lessons, or even clothes for a baby.
2. See something that will fill a need and then find someone with that need. –Giveaways, gifts, free, service, and opportunities which benefit the community are communicated through the email network and network members are encouraged to find someone in the broader community with that need to pass that blessing onto.
E.g. Giveaway beds, dining table, car, TV, food, vouchers, clothes, free community events etc are communicated on the email network and members arrange to collect the items to pass onto friends in need or even for themselves if they are in need.
We believe and have seen time and time again that there are lots of people in need in the community but there is also a lot of people that are in the position to and desire to pass on their over abundance to those who are struggling. One person may desperately need a washing machine and their own neighbour may very well have a spare washer and dryer that they would like to give away but if there is no knowledge of that need or abundance then the need remains unmet and perfectly good items that could help the community end up at the tip or rusting out under a house on a back veranda.
The Community Care email network seeks to create that pays it forward culture in our community and helps connect that need up to the people who can and want to help meet that need.
In the connecting of those helping meet needs and receiving the help, often a bonding can happen between the different parties and help generate a greater sense of fellowship, support, community and encouragement blessing both the giver and receiver. In the end some of those helped become the greatest helpers.
How we set up the Community Care Network
Here's a simple method for developing an Email community care network in your region
1. Collect emails of like minded people in your Church, club, business and community
a) Ask the pastor/leader Church/groups you are involved in if everyone from the Church/ organisation can be asked whether or not they mind you approaching the members to see if they would be happy to be on the community care list.
