EDUCATION CITY FIESTA Sunday 26th August 2007 This annual event made its debut last year in 2006 as the Summer Fiesta. With a move from February to August, the event is now the Education City Fiesta. The day is one of WCC’s major charity fundraising events and consists of market stalls, fun rides, a food court, fireworks, the SGMF (including FREE concerts by top entertainers) plus the USQ Open Day with opportunities to explore this unique education precinct. |

Springfield Lakes Run for Fun |

SONSATION RUN Saturday 20th October 2007 Formerly the Springfield Lakes Run for Fun, the fun run is now in it’s 11th year. This event is used as one of WCC’s major fundraisers. The 2006 event was combined with a family fun day and community open day and raised just over $20,000 for charity. In the past, the day has consisted of both a 5klm and 2klm run. It has been open to individuals, corporate teams, school challenges and more recently the Triple P (Principals, Pastors & Politicians) challenge. This year (2007), the run is set to be reinvented and transformed into the “sonsation run” and will include a 5klm and 10klm race. It will continue to be open to individuals, corporations, schools and “Principals, Pastors & Politicians” but this year will also see the introduction of the “Battle of the Banks” challenge.
